Cladina sp
I''m on vacation, so please accept my apologies for the brief entries. -- Daniel.
I''m not sure of the identity of this one, but I suspect Cladina rangiferina, or reindeer moss (though it''s really a lichen). This was growing at ~850m (2800ft) in elevation. It was a common sight in the White Pass area, eventhough I must admit it does look a bit different when a macro lens is used (see other images of Cladina spp.).
It also seems that all Cladina species are now lumped into Cladonia; the USDA PLANTS database still uses Cladina.
